  1. Currently I’m working on picture books, but have a couple of middle grade manuscripts in need of serious revision.

  2. I have started novels before, but I’m really committed to finish this time around. I’ve decided to try a hearty outline (’tis like a stew of an outline. Ha!) I get word count phobia if I think about the novel as a whole, so I’m trying to pretend it’s one scene at a time.

    • As a big fan of stew (no joke, I just finished a bowl moments ago), I heartily support and cheer on your outline approach, Lauri. Happy writing!

  3. I am writing in all genres of kidlit but I do have both a MG and a YA novel that both need DEEP REVISION.
    I’d love to win.

    • Oh, I understand deep revision — much work, but also much reward. Wishing you success with the revision, Jodelle, and good luck with the giveaway!

  4. Folks, Deborah’s book is a stellar “how to” that will help you write for ANY age group. I wish luck to all who are entering the giveaway drawing. Whether you win or not, I highly recommend you add this book to your library! (And no, I’m not Deborah’s cousin–I’ve just benefited for years from her blog and snapped up my copy of WRITING YOUNG ADULT FICTION as soon as it was released!)

    • You made me laugh, Mark — we’re may not be cousins, but I do appreciate your hearty kind words about WRITING YOUNG ADULT FICTION FOR DUMMIES. I sure tried to make it helpful! Thank you for taking the time to comment.

  5. I have a couple of MG novels in various states of dis-repair. Mostly because I need help with revision and re-visioning. My goal is to get SOMETHING accomplished with one of them this month.

  6. My stalled YA book still haunts me (unfinished outline, TONS of researched material for the World Building but it’s not organized yet, etc.) I could use a mentor to help me organize character composites and map out my heroine’s journey! Even if I’m not chosen, thank you for offering this as a prize.
