ALERT: Free Full Manuscript Edit giveaway!

/

This Free Full Manuscript Edit giveaway is for picture book writers or any novelist—of MG, YA, NA, or Adult fiction—who has a completed manuscript of 110,000 words or less. Use the Rafflecopter form below to enter. The contest is open to entries August 10, 2015 – August 14, 2015. I’ll announce the winner August 15, 2015, here on this blog and on DearEditor.com’s Facebook, Google+, and Twitter pages. [NOTE: If you’re viewing this on your desktop or laptop, use the scroll bar at the right to see the full Rafflecopter entry instructions for the Facebook and Twitter extra entry options, which have two steps. Mobile devices DO show the full entry form for those options. For the next DearEditor.com giveaway, I’ll have a redesigned page to avoid such issues. Thanks!]

Happy writing!

    • Thanks for letting me know the range works for you, Nancy. It’s hard to separate the various stages when you’re in the trenches, so I aim to shed light in every corner that I can.

  1. Thank you for all the information and encouragement you provide to writers of all genres! You inspire, challenge, and assist in a very competitive field. We need more people like you!

  2. I’m trying to enter your free full manuscript edit giveaway, but the entry screen isn’t loading properly. It shows I have only 1 entry. I did the other 3 options (FB and Twitter), but those 6 entries aren’t showing and when I click on those entry boxes (or down arrows) the screen doesn’t load correctly. Is it just me? Thx, Tena

    • Update – I do see the Tweet on my Twitter acct and I did receive a “like” for a comment made on your FB page. But the counter still only shows I have 1 entry and not the full 7. Glad to see I’m not the only one having problems. What to do?

      • Okay, got all the options working. For the next giveaway I’ll have a redesigned page to avoid this issue, but if you’re viewing this on your computer, use the blue scroll bar to scroll down and see the full Rafflecopter entry box and the full steps for the Twitter and Facebook options. Mobile devices can use the options without problem. Next time I’ll have it running perfectly, gang!

    • It’s my pleasure. I’ve been the recipient of pay-it-forward acts and get great joy in practicing it in every aspect of my life.

  3. Hi Deborah,

I’m having the same issue. I’ve clicked on the 2 entries (Dear Editor and Facebook) multiple times, but it still shows 0 entries. 🙁

  4. Okay, I got all the entry options working in the Rafflecopter form. For the next giveaway I’ll have a redesigned page to avoid this issue, but for now: People entering via mobile devices should have no issues. But if you’re viewing this on your computer, use the blue scroll bar to scroll down and see the full Rafflecopter entry box and the full steps for the Twitter and Facebook options — you need to complete ALL the steps to get the entry logged. I think the one you’re not seeing is the step that requires you to cut-and-past the Tweet url into the Rafflecopter form and click “I Tweeted!” Then it registers the entry. Thanks for your patience with the technical snafu. I’ll have a new approach in place for the next DearEditor.com giveaway.

  5. I went to your workshop last year at SCBWI in LA and I have your book. You are a wonderful coach and writer. You have earned the award. I’m happy for you. Time to celebrate!

  6. So glad I’ve found this blog! I’ve been looking for just this place to ask questions and find answers about the publishing business. I’ve been writing and taking on-line courses, webinars, and workshops for ten years. Hopefully this site will provide some good insights into the mystery that is “breaking into print’.

    • Welcome! You can check the questions and answers out by tabbing back through the daily posts or by clicking on “Categories” for a topic grouping of the posts. Enjoy.

  7. Hi Deborah,
Thanks so much for leading the Intensive at SCBWI Conference last Monday. Giving and receiving feedback about our work was very helpful in y redraft efforts. I would like to login to the Manuscript reading giveaway but don’t think my e-mail is being accepted. Could you help with this? Many thanks!
